This past Saturday was the State Solo and Ensemble Festival for the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association. Band students from IA West, Lakeland, and Milford that qualified for States performed throughout the day, and they were incredible! We had 100% of our students medal! 68 Individual medals were awarded to HVS students. Of those, 3 were Division II ratings, and 65 were Division I ratings (Division I is the highest rating possible). Congratulations to all of our HVS band students on this achievement!

GLOW NIGHT Fun at Spring Mills!
Families came out in huge numbers to Spring Mills Elementary on March 8th for their first Glow Night! Ms. Robinson had made fabulous glow-in-the-dark artwork with the students and Mrs. LaPratt had practiced fun grade-level performances with various glowing props like finger lights, light-up drumsticks, tennis- and snowballs, gloves, and LED foam sticks. There was dancing, face painting, music, laughter, and lots of photos. This special night featuring the arts was made possible thanks to a grant from the HVEF and with lots of help from the PTA and volunteers.
