Today, we welcomed two new members into the Harbor High School Hall of Fame.
Eldon VanSpybrook served as Principal of Milford High School from 1967 to 1973, where he led over 3,000 students in two shifts while Lakeland High School was under construction. During that time, he established Milford’s Hockey and Equestrian programs. Most notably, he founded Huron Valley’s first Alternative Education Program at Duck Lake Elementary — the foundation for what would become Harbor High School. As Director, he expanded Harbor to include the Young Mothers Program, adult education, and a wide range of continuing education opportunities for the community.
Samantha Nichols, a Harbor graduate and Academic Achievement Award recipient, earned the highest GPA in her class. She continued her education at Oakland Community College, then graduated from the University of Michigan in 2024 with a degree in Microbiology. This fall, she will return to U of M to begin her Master’s program in Microbiology and Immunology.
Congratulations to both Eldon and Samantha on this well-deserved recognition.
