It's National School Social Work Week, and at HVS, we have some of the best. These professionals help students deal with mental health and behavioral challenges and provide academic and classroom support. They also help in developing education policies and work with teams to support crisis interventions. Thank you, HVS social workers! #HVSProud

The HVS Board of Education will meet at 5:30. p.m. -- a little earlier than usual -- for the regular meeting on Monday, March 7. The meeting takes place in the Lakeland LGI and is also streamed live on our YouTube Channel.

We're sending a great big 'Thank You!' to all HVS bus drivers and transportation staff today. Not only do they travel a combined 7,000 miles every day to get our students safely to and from school, field trips and sporting events, they also go above and beyond to support HVS families with their Angel Tree project every year. #HVSProud

HVS is once again offering Junior Kindergarten, a free-to-families program designed for students who would benefit from a two-year kindergarten experience. The JK curriculum features a play-based, learn by doing approach, and students also receive art, music and physical education classes - just like the big kids.
Visit https://www.hvs.org/page/junior-kindergarten to learn more. We are enrolling now for the 2022-23 school year.

Congratulations to Muir Middle School's Lola Beer, who won the middle school diving state championship with all A’s - and to the Huron Valley Swim and Dive team for qualifying and competing at states. #HVSProud

Sixth graders at Oak Valley presented their heritage to peers and visiting families during a recent "Culture Day" event. Each student created a slideshow and brought in a cultural artifact to display. Some of these items were especially delicious. Shortbread, anyone?

No need to wear your PJs inside out or sleep with a spoon under your pillow. Due to the forecast of heavy snow, tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 2, is a snow day! Check your email for a letter from Dr. Salah and enjoy the day off!

We're getting ready for an exciting game of hoops as Milford High School introduces its brand new, student-led Unified Basketball team, hitting the MHS court tonight at 6:30 p.m. Unified Sports is a Special Olympics program inspired by a simple principle: training and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding for athletes of all abilities. Let's go Mavs! #HVSProud

Apollo Early Childhood students have been talking about hibernation and the different tracks animals make in the snow. After reading the book "Footprints in the Snow" together, students used play animals and finger paint to make their own tracks.

Students from Oak Valley Middle School art classes participated in an art show this week. Each chose his or her favorite piece to display, and families and students enjoyed seeing and discussing the creative work. We are in awe of the talent these students exhibit!

This free, 60-minute program gives an overview of substances teens may misuse, as well as communication techniques for opening a conversation with your kids.
