
Caroline Colt is a senior at Milford High School and was selected as one of 32 student-athletes to receive a $2,000 scholarship from the MHSAA/Farm Bureau Insurance.

Brandy Badertscher has worked for HVS as a para for about 10 years. She is absolutely phenomenal and a joy to be around. The students are always laughing and smiling when they are with Brandy. She is a sunshine at Milford High!

This morning, HV Rec & Ed Future Stars basketball program honored teammate Carson Dunn by giving his mom a picture, jersey and ball with his number on it. Carson died tragically over the summer and a scholarship has been set up in his honor to keep his love for basketball alive.

Apollo’s preschool classroom read how polar bears stay warm in the arctic and in the Ocean with the winter blubber they put on under their fur. Then students felt the difference between temperatures through lined and empty plastic bags placed in cold water.

Muir Middle School students Jack, Audrina, Griffin, Olivia, Owen and Sam were highlighted at last night’s Board Meeting for the Winter Clothing Drive they created.
Board treasurer Lindsay Cotter presented each of them with certificates for all their hard work!

The Oak Valley Middle School Pre-Engineering students built electric cars while the Engineering students designed CO2 cars. They raced their cars, then problem-solved and calculated measures for improvement.

Lakeland High School senior Owen Mladenoff is a rockstar in class and on the basketball court. He is a top student in his class, Homecoming King, and NHS President. He is a great representative of LHS and their mission statement of Connect, Empower, and Achieve.

Kelly Westfall is a lunch/recess monitor at Spring Mills Elementary and goes above and beyond to help every student, parent and co-worker. As PTA President, she helps keep the staff and the PTA stay connected.

Country Oaks Elementary 4th graders completed the One Meter Challenge. Science groups experimented with angle, height and weight in their attempt to have their ball travel the exact distance of one meter.

WLMS 6th grader Jacob Jenkinson spent the holiday season volunteering and spreading cheer. His goal was to make sure no child or senior go without a Christmas tree. He helped assemble and deliver 800 tree kits for children and decorated with seniors.

In last night's HVS board meeting, White Lake Fire Department Captain Steve Hanneman was honored for his over 10 years of service to the district. He has made it his mission to make sure local families are staying warm in the winter.
