At tonight's Board of Education meeting, Lakeland High School’s Meredith Peterson and Anna Linen, a senior at International Academy–West, were recognized for their statewide honors as finalists for the Michigan High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Award.

This past weekend members of LHS and the IA participated in the MSVMA Solo and Ensemble Festival. All 16 soloists, 1 duet, 1 trio, and 2 large ensembles received the highest possible rating of “superior”, with the Bluebirds ensemble receiving a perfect score! Based on their exceptional performances, each of these singers is now eligible to participate in the State Solo and Ensemble Festival in April. Congratulations to these talented musicians! #WeAreLakeland
