Although the history of our band program is a short one compared to many schools, it is one filled with many wonderful memories, lasting impressions, and a great tradition of excellence that has held firm for over 40 years. While many programs come and go, the Lakeland Bands have made their mark for many years as a program of top quality musical experiences and fond memories for the many students and families that have been a part of our lives. The Lakeland Bands have a proud history, winning our first National Championship in 1993 in Winter Guard as Epiphany of Lakeland High School. In 1997 they finished second in the country in Winter Guard. The Lakeland High School Marching Band has won four State Championships. In 2007 the Winter Drumline finished second runner up in the country for Winter Drumline. The Winter Drumline and Winter Guard programs have a combined 18 State Championships between them. The 1976 Lakeland Marching Band performed at the Orange Bowl and the 1999 Lakeland Marching Band was a National Semi-Finalist. In 2021 a new tradition was started, the Huron Valley Marching Band, combining both the Lakeland the Milford Marching Band programs into one.
