Seventeen Huron Valley Schools students are being recognized for outstanding academic achievement through the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Eight International Academy-West seniors have been named National Merit Semifinalists, placing them among approximately the top 1% of high school seniors nationwide. The students are Abdullah Hamza, Hilary Lakinam, Karthy Muthukumar, Sai Sahasra Namuduri, Meghana Raikar, Priya Shah, Roshan Shaik and Akshaj Yellagoud.
Six additional IA-West seniors were named National Merit Commended Students: Chloe Case, Mark Kena, Luna Klosinski, Swarna Kokatam, Annanyasri Maddali and Alex Wilson.

Lakeland High School senior Levi Harvey was named a National Merit Semifinalist, while Micah Harvey received a Letter of Commendation. Milford High School senior Madeline Donoghue-Lozon also received a Letter of Commendation.


The National Merit Scholarship Program, established in 1955, recognizes academically talented students based on their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT and other program requirements. More than 1.2 million students enter the program each year.
