Huron Valley Schools is pleased to welcome Mike Madden to his new role as assistant principal at Muir Middle School, where he will work alongside Principal Stacie Brodi to support students, staff and the Muir school community.
Madden brings 14 years of experience in education to the position, including 13 years as a special education teacher and basketball coach at Milford High School. Most recently, he served as Dean of Students at Muir Middle School, giving him valuable experience working with the students, staff and families he will continue to serve in his new role.
A lifelong member of the Huron Valley community, Mike attended Huron Valley Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade and graduated from Lakeland High School in 2003. He went on to earn degrees from Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University and Oakland University.
His career in Huron Valley has provided him with a broad range of experiences and a strong connection to the district and its students. His background as an educator, coach and school leader will be valuable as he takes on his new responsibilities at Muir.
Mike and his wife, Tara, live in Milford with their two sons, Thomas, 5, and Austin, 3. Their family will have an extra connection to Huron Valley Schools this fall, when Thomas begins kindergarten at Kurtz Elementary.
“I am excited for the opportunity to continue serving the students and staff of Huron Valley Schools in this new role,” Madden said.
With deep roots in the district and experience at both the high school and middle school levels, Mike looks forward to continuing his work with the Muir community and helping students thrive.
