Jaden Grant is taking the next step in his hockey career. The Lakeland High School Class of 2020 graduate has signed his first professional contract with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL following a successful four-year collegiate career at Bowling Green State University.
Grant will remain in northwest Ohio as he joins the Walleye, one of the ECHL's premier organizations and an affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.
Bowling Green Head Coach Dennis Williams praised Grant's impact on the Falcons program both on and off the ice.
"Jaden has been an instrumental part of our program over the past four years and especially over the last two seasons," Williams said. "His impact on the ice, combined with his leadership and character away from the rink, made him an invaluable member of our team. He was an integral player for our program in all facets of the game and one of the best faceoff players I've ever had the privilege of coaching."
During his four seasons at Bowling Green, Grant appeared in 141 games, recording 19 goals and 28 assists for 47 career points. His senior season in 2025-26 was one of his strongest, setting a career-high with eight goals while winning 57.4% of his faceoffs. He also served as an assistant captain, earned ACHA All-American Scholar honors and finished his career with six power-play goals, four game-winning goals and two short-handed goals.
For Lakeland High School, Grant's signing marks another exciting alumni success story, as the 2020 graduate continues his hockey journey..
Congratulations to Jaden on this outstanding achievement, and best of luck with the Toledo Walleye during the 2026-27 season!
