MILFORD, Mich. — Huron Valley Schools has announced the appointment of Connie Gilbert as the district's new Associate Director of Curriculum Development following a thorough interview process.

Gilbert brings a wealth of experience in curriculum development, instructional leadership and teacher support to the role. A longtime educator and leader within Huron Valley Schools, she has worked closely with teachers and administrators on numerous instructional initiatives and curriculum projects throughout her career.

"Connie is no stranger to Huron Valley Schools," said Superintendent Dr. Paul Salah. "She has been a teacher leader and curriculum expert for a number of years. Many of our staff members have worked alongside her on curricular projects, and I know she is going to help lead our Teaching and Learning Team operations with competence and passion."

A Milford native and graduate of Milford High School, Gilbert has deep roots in the community she now serves. She and her husband, David, live in Milford and raised their two children in the community.

Gilbert began her teaching career at Lakeland High School before transferring to Milford High School in 2013, where she taught Algebra and Geometry. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation as a collaborative educator, mentor and instructional leader dedicated to improving student learning and supporting fellow educators.

As Associate Director of Curriculum Development, Gilbert will work alongside teachers, principals and district leaders to support curriculum planning, instructional improvement and student achievement across the district.

Gilbert will begin her new position this summer and will play a key role in advancing teaching and learning initiatives throughout Huron Valley Schools.
