The Class of 2026 officially crossed the graduation stage Sunday as Huron Valley Schools celebrated commencement ceremonies for Milford High School and Lakeland High School before packed gymnasiums filled with proud families, friends, staff members and the community.

Milford High School's graduation ceremony began at 11 a.m., followed by Lakeland High School's commencement at 2 p.m. Both events showcased the accomplishments of the graduating seniors while honoring the journey that brought them to this milestone.

The sounds of school bands and choirs helped set the tone for the celebrations, while graduates processed into the ceremonies wearing caps and gowns that reflected both tradition and individuality.

Among the highlights was the recognition of each school's top academic achievers. At Milford High School, Lily Hardin was honored as Valedictorian after earning an impressive 4.62 grade point average, while Gavin Hess was recognized as Salutatorian with a 4.53 GPA.

Lakeland High School celebrated Co-Valedictorians Landon Johns and Jacob Beck, who shared the highest academic honors in the Class of 2026. Meredith Peterson was recognized as the school's Salutatorian.

For the Class of 2026, the day was about more than receiving a diploma. It was a celebration of friendships, achievements, perseverance and possibility. Along with thousands of smiles, hugs, photographs and cheers. The graduates were surrounded by the people who supported them along the way as they get ready to take the next steps toward college, careers, military service and countless other opportunities.
