Two students from Huron Valley Schools’ Milford High School automotive program recently put their skills to the test at the SkillsUSA State Finals in Grand Rapids, representing their school with pride alongside instructor Eric Hincka.
Will Troger competed in the Automotive Electrical category, where he demonstrated strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities in diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems. His performance reflected the hands-on training and real-world experience gained through the program.
Steven Liggett stood out in the Maintenance and Light Repair category, earning first place and the title of State Champion. His top finish showcased a high level of precision, efficiency, and expertise across a range of automotive repair tasks.

In recognition of his achievement, Liggett received professional-grade tools and multiple scholarship offers, underscoring both his skill and future potential in the automotive industry. He will go on to represent Michigan at the SkillsUSA National Competition in Atlanta, Georgia, beginning June 1.
Milford High School and Huron Valley Schools celebrate both students for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence as they prepare for careers in the skilled trades.
