Congratulations!

On Sunday, May 18, 2025, both Milford and Lakeland High Theatre Departments attended the Sutton Foster Musical Theatre Competition at Wharton Center.  While MHS is in its 10th year of participating, we are excited to announce the LHS went for the first time this year!  4 seniors represented HVS - Amelia Dalbis and Grant Camden from MHS and Katie Williams & Nolan Osterhart from LHS - and all shined bright on the Wharton stage.  These 4 were selected after 3 adjudicators came to our musicals and provided feedback and chose the top Actor & Actress for the state competition.  This year the competition included over 150 students from over 80 schools across the state (the largest it has ever been).

In addition to seeing our 4 students compete and perform, MHS and LHS were both honored with a few overall production awards.  LHS was awarded top honors for Outstanding Choreography (our district choreographer is Suzanne Jonna of Suzanne's Main Street Dance Centre) and Outstanding Set Design (Set Designer: Dayle Kolb). Milford was awarded top honors for Outstanding Set Design (Set Designer: Megan Weeks) and Outstanding Costuming/Hair/Makeup (Lead Designer: Melinda Mihail with Student Makeup Designer Kennedy Wuerth - sophomore).

Once again, HVS was honored for its dedication to excellence in theatre & music and we are so proud of our students and overall teams.  A huge THANK YOU to Becky Hogaboom (LHS Director) and Jeffrey Nelson (LHS Music Director) at LHS and Brittany Miller (MHS Music Director) at MHS for leading the Musical each year. It's so wonderful to see our students have these opportunities and it wouldn't be possible without strong leadership.

Congratulations to everyone in our theatre groups for a job well done!
