This past week Lakeland math teacher Mrs. Angela Eckerle was presented with a check for $2000 for classroom supplies from the LaFontaine Auto Group. Mrs. Eckerle is the current HVS High School Teacher of the Year. This award was presented to her at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. Dr. Brigitte Knudsen, LHS Principal, says "We are so proud of Mrs. Eckerle and all of her achievements. She is a passionate professional who puts students at the center of everything she does." Mrs. Eckerle states "Last Spring I was surprised and honored to be recognized as the Huron Valley Teacher of the Year, and humbled by the kind words from staff, students and the community. On Monday I was surprised once again by a gracious donation from LaFontaine with smiling faces and money to spend towards my classroom. I am so appreciative for the recognition from Huron Valley as well as LaFontaine."
