Lakeland LINK Crew Leaders

Each year at the start of the year, a group of dedicated students come together in an effort to help and support our incoming Freshmen Class. This group, called Lakeland LINK Crew, is that group! This group consisting of LHS Juniors, Seniors, and one dedicated Sophomore train for two days under the guidance of Mr. Rolando and Mrs. Durham, our LINK Crew Co-Coordinators, and then run the orientation program before the school year starts. During the school year the LINK leaders do monthly check in's with their small groups of freshmen and also participate in some large full freshmen class programs to help bring the class together, to build relationships, and help support the freshmen class with their transition to Lakeland from middle school. "Lakeland LINK Crew has been around since 2013 helping provide a solid and stable transition for our freshmen classes." stated Mr. Rolando. "The leaders are the backbone of the program. These student leaders give of their own time to help make the freshmen class be comfortable here at Lakeland, to welcome them, and to help them with any challenges that arise along the way." The program has shown to bring down discipline and attendance issues within the freshmen class and to help provide a peer to peer mentoring system that freshmen can lean on throughout the entire school year. Great job to our LINK Leaders, Mr. Rolando, and Mrs. Durham on another great and successful freshmen orientation and good luck the rest of the 22-23 school year! #WeAreLakeland
