Recently, aligning with their studies in World History, all Lakeland 9th grade students attended a special seminar about communism presented by teacher Mrs. Alina Trice with the help of her guest speaker Mrs. Saniya Ellis, an HVS district employee. Both Mrs. Trice and Mrs. Ellis spoke about their childhood growing up in the communist countries of Romania and Russia. Students had the opportunity to see several artifacts from around the world related to communism and the Cold War, including a piece of the Berlin Wall.
