Lakeland was proud to host the two day MHSAA state finals this weekend. On Friday the team placed 13th amongst many very talented teams. Great job!
The individual competition took place on Saturday in the LHS Field House. Lakeland junior, Ava Barwikowski rocked her vault with a score of 9.125 and placed 7th in the state in the D2 category. Milford senior, Erika Yates had a great beam day, scoring a 9.0 which earned her the 9th place medal for her D1 category. Maeve Spicer, IA senior had an amazing day. She led the D1 vault competition most of the day but ended up in 2nd place, scoring a 9.6! Her bars were equally amazing, scoring a 9.0 and earning her state honors and a 7th place finish. We are extremely proud of our team and everything that they accomplished this year!
