Leadership Class with Huron Valley Hero Award

At the January 24th, 2022 HVS Board of Education meeting, the Lakeland Leadership program was honored with the Huron Valley Hero Award. This award is given by the HVS Board of Education to individuals and groups that have and continue to make a difference in the Huron Valley community. The class was honored for their ongoing excellence and commitment to community outreach through the Holiday Hope for Kids program. The Holiday Hope for Kids program, or HH4K, is a Lakeland tradition started in 1975 by former Lakeland counselor Mr. John Joannides and is the longest running program in school history. The program has donated over $250,000 to various special needs students, schools, and classrooms since it's inception. Mr. Scott Rolando, LHS Student Activities Director, states "This program is a Lakeland tradition and is full of heart. Each and every year Lakeland Leadership and students from all across our building come together at the holidays to help make the season a bright one for as many people as we can in  HVS and Oakland County." Congratulations to the Lakeland Leadership Class and all of the LHS alumni who have participated in this program over the years. #WeAreLakeland
