Homecoming Week is one of the most anticipated traditions of the school year at Lakeland High School, bringing students together for a week filled with school spirit, friendly competition and plenty of opportunities to make memories with friends.

But what makes Homecoming so special to Lakeland students?

We asked Eagles to share their favorite parts of Homecoming Week, and their answers highlighted the traditions that make the celebration memorable.

For many students, Spirit Week is a favorite, especially the chance to dress up for themed days and see classmates join in the fun. Pajama Day is a popular choice, giving students an opportunity to show their school spirit while keeping things comfortable and fun.

The Homecoming assembly is another highlight, bringing students together for an energetic celebration filled with excitement, school pride and Eagle spirit. Students also look forward to the Homecoming football game, where they can cheer on the Eagles alongside friends, classmates and the Lakeland community.

Other favorites include participating in spirit days, spending time with friends and enjoying the excitement that builds throughout the week.

Perhaps the biggest theme is togetherness. From the themed outfits in the hallways to the cheers at the assembly and the energy in the stands on game night, Homecoming Week gives students a chance to connect, show their Eagle pride and celebrate being part of the Lakeland family.

Whether it's wearing pajamas to school, cheering alongside classmates at the assembly or supporting the Eagles under the Friday night lights, Homecoming Week offers something for everyone. For Lakeland students, the best part is making memories together and showing what it means to be an Eagle.
