Lakeland High School Class of 2023 graduate McCoy Biagioli has once again proven himself among Michigan's top amateur golfers, capturing his second Michigan Amateur Championship in the past three years with a dominant performance on July 3.

The Michigan State University standout defeated Grand Blanc's Logan Price, 7 and 5, in the championship match at Eagle Eye Golf Club, securing the state's most prestigious amateur golf title for the second time after first winning the tournament in 2024.

Biagioli's championship run was nothing short of remarkable. Over six rounds of match play, he recorded just a single bogey while playing 121 holes with a composite score of 33-under par. His exceptional consistency and precision carried him through a talented field and into the championship match.

The final day of competition began with the semifinal round, where Biagioli defeated last year's runner-up, PJ Maybank, 3 and 1. On the opposite side of the bracket, Price advanced by defeating defending Michigan Amateur champion and former Michigan State golfer Caleb Bond, 3 and 2.

Biagioli then capped off his impressive tournament with a commanding 7-and-5 victory over Price in the championship match.

His victory also continues an impressive streak for Michigan State University's golf program. Spartans have now claimed the last four Michigan Amateur Championships, with August Meekhof winning in 2023, Biagioli in 2024, Caleb Bond in 2025, and Biagioli reclaiming the title in 2026.

By winning the Michigan Amateur Championship, Biagioli earned an automatic exemption into the prestigious U.S. Amateur Championship, which will be held later this summer at the historic Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania.

Biagioli's latest accomplishment adds to an already impressive collegiate and amateur golf résumé and serves as another proud moment for Lakeland High School, where he graduated in 2023 before continuing his golf career at Michigan State University.
