Hello Lakeland Community!

Two groups at Lakeland are actively looking for assistance to help with the drives for local community organizations.

The first group is the Lakeland JOI (Junior Optimists International) group. They are doing a drive for MAUL, or the Michigan Animal Rescue League. They are currently accepting wet and dry dog and cat food, west and dry kitten and puppy food (Purina One), cat toys, fleece blankets, Clorox Wipes, Paper towels, clay clumping cat litter, gently used or new leashes, collars or harnesses and dog and chew toys. All donations can be brought into students 4th hour or to the Lakeland Main Office, attn Mrs. Durham or JOI Club.

The Lakeland National Honor Society is now accepting donations for the Disaster Relief at Work or DRAW organization. DRAW going out and helps family and community across the US who have been affected by natural disasters, floods, tornados, hurricanes, etc. They help clean up and provide support for those families. NHS is talking 30 volunteers in November to DRAW to help pack disaster buckets for families in need during these tough times in the future. We were asked to help by bringing some of the following supplies:

·  90, 5-gallon buckets (Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards, etc)

·  33 Gallon Trash Bags

·  Ziploc: Sandwich

·  Ziploc: Quart

·  Ziploc: Gallon

·  Work Gloves

·  Cotton Cleaning Cloth

·  Safety Glasses/Goggles

These donations can be brought into Lakeland and dropped off in the main office, attn Lakeland NHS, Mr. Rolando, or Mr. Perry. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your time and consideration of these great two student run groups, working hard to give back to our community!
