6 people giving an award to one person who is a high school student

Lakeland High School and the Huron Valley Schools Career Technical Education program are proud to honor Lakeland Senior Nick Porter with the Oakland Schools Career and Technical Education Award. Each high school in Oakland County is allowed to select one student in their CTE programs as their yearly award winner. This widely respected CTE award is giving out by Oakland Schools based on the school selection of a winner. Nick was presented with a certificate for his accomplishment by the Lakeland administrative team, LHS Marketing Teacher Lindsay Rubin, and LHS CTE Teacher and HVS CFE Coordinator Scott Rolando. Nick is also invited to a reception in his honor at Oakland Schools in mid-April.

Nick's nominating teacher Mrs. Lindsay Rubin states "Nick has dedicated two years to studying marketing, BAMO indicating his sustained interest and investment in the BMMT pathway. Nick qualified as a state finalist in the Integrated Marketing Campaign in 2023 and has qualified to represent Lakeland High School at the 2024 DECA International Career Development Conference for his work on the School Based Enterprise certification. Nick's involvement in the school-based enterprise competition showcases his practical application of marketing concepts and his ability to execute real-world business initiatives within an educational setting."

Nick will be attending Northwood University and majoring in Business Management.
