Oak Valley Middle School

6th Grade Band

Welcome to Oak Valley Bands. We start students in the 6th grade, teaching them everything they need to know to play their instruments. No prior experience is necessary, as 6th grade is all about taking students from having no knowledge of their instrument to being independent musicians. 

7th and 8th Grade Bands

The fun doesn't stop there; it's just beginning!  We also have bands in 7th and 8th grade, where we continue to develop skills and increase our opportunities to perform. The 7th/8th Grade Bands take part in Michigan School Band and Orchestra events during the year. The bands also perform in school concerts and take performance-based trips in the spring. The 7th/8th Grade Bands combine to march in the Milford Holiday Parade during Thanksgiving weekend.

Jazz Band

We also have a Jazz Band which is open to 7th and 8th grade students. This group rehearses before school at various times during the year and performs at various concerts and other events. All instrument types welcome.

Summer Band

All of our Oak Valley band students are welcome to join the Summer Band, which performs at Cedar Point and for the Milford Fourth of July Parade.  The Summer Band is  composed of students from all of the Huron Valley Middle Schools.
