YEARBOOK

Grade Level: 9-12  with application and teacher approval (multiple year commitment) 
Required Pre-Requisites: Students must be earning an A in their current English class, undergo an interview and receive instructor approval 
Recommended Pre-Requisites: Digital Photography, Visual Communications, Intro to Journalism 
FEE: No Fee 

This course will allow students to plan, create, produce and distribute the school yearbook. Working individually and as a group, students will perform various journalistic duties associated with the function of this small business. Responsibilities will included photography, photo editing, write copy, page design, layout development, proofreading and editing. In addition, students will develop marketing skills such as fundraising, budget management, communication with local businesses, promotion & sales. Time management is crucial, as students will need to be self-directed to follow schedules and meet deadlines. Students are encouraged to commit to the yearbook staff for the remainder of their high school career. 

*Note: Students will have the opportunity to leave campus for off-site photo shoots and fundraising opportunities per parental permission and grade status in the class.
