Milford High School's Center Stage performed for the prayer breakfast at the Church of the Holy Spirit. This is the second time they've shared their passion for singing, at this community event. Shea Giese was recognized as one of the top 12 soloists in the state of Michigan. She will be participating in an All-State Solo & Ensemble Concert on May 12th in East Lansing. To be recognized for this honor, Shea earned a superior score at both district and state competitions, followed by the recommendation of a state judge. This is a fantastic accomplishment!

The MHS Play Production class will present the spring all-student production of the hilarious murder-mystery "A Family Reunion to Die For" at the Milford HS Little Theatre tonight, Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 at 7pm. Tickets are only available at the door - $7 cash or venmo.

The Milford HS Vocal Music Department will present its annual Spring Choral Concert tonight - May 3 - at 7pm in the MHS Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature all choirs at MHS and admission is free.

This week students from both MHS and LHS were able to explore many construction career options with hands-on experiences. These students met with construction professionals, Michigan college representatives, and were given indoor and outdoor options to experience laying brick, operating heavy equipment, and more!

Huron Valley Percussion World Finalist Again! This past weekend, the Huron Valley Percussion competed at World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. The group finished 6th in Finals, with a score of 89.388! This is their 7th consecutive appearance in Finals at World Championships. We are extremely proud of them and their strong showing at Worlds after a fantastic season in 2023! Congratulations HVP!

This week in ELA 10 students are doing Of Mice and Men character projects! The goal is for them to bring the characters in the book to life so they are making life sized drawings of them. They will also include what they believe is their American dream. They seem to be having fun with it!

MHS Teacher Cadets have been in their placement schools since March. Over the next few weeks they will take what they have learned and apply it by teaching a short lesson to their host classes. Thanks again to Heritage, Highland, Johnson and Muir for hosting our students. It has been a great opportunity for them!

Huron Valley Schools Adult Transition students are hard at work practicing employment skills. They are dressed for success in their new Huron Valley Schools Adult Transition Student Intern shirts that were purchased from a grant provided to Mrs. Riley (School Psychologist) by the Huron Valley Educational Foundation.

This week is the week for the Huron Valley Percussion Winter Drum Line to go down to World Championships in Dayton, OH. Have fun on your 2 days of competition!

The HOT Team will be competing in the FIRST Robotics World Championship this week (Wednesday April 19-Saturday April 22 in Houston Texas) The HOT Team (Team 67) is in the Galileo Division this year. You can watch the event streaming on FIRSTtv https://www.firstchampionship.org/watch
