We are proud to announce that Savannah Carnaghi (MHS Senior) earned the MI-YDA credential for the Education General program. She is the first student in the HVS school district to do so! A school-age Youth Development Professional is an extraordinary individual who helps to guide youth to master skills, develop relationships, grow in independence, and move to new levels of thinking and understanding about themselves and the world. The Michigan Youth Development Associate Credential and the Core Knowledge and Competencies support quality programs for school-age youth by providing standards for training and evaluation. To earn this, an Education General student must successfully complete the program, spend 480 hours working with school aged children, pass an exam, and be observed by a Michigan After School Program official leading an after school program lesson. Congratulations Savannah on all your hard work!

Congratulations to our recipients of the new Rotary Road to Success Award. Staff members nominated a student from each grade for their involvement in academics, personal life, and extracurricular activities. The students whom received this award are Amelia Brennan, Romy Gutierrez, Aiden Walker, and Caleb Daniels.
