BMT 2/VEI is a class at MHS that starts up and runs a virtual online business in a virtual world of other high school students around the country. In our class we have two businesses: Mavco and Bruce. Each potential employee prepares a portfolio for a job they would like to experience with our company, then students are given the opportunity to interview with Huron Valley administrators to learn and practice their interview skills. Students will complete a reflection and thank you, in hopes of receiving job offers for various positions.

This week we celebrated our students that achieved a 3.5 GPA or greater from the 2021-22 school year at the Fall Academic Ceremony. Many are not pictured here due to other obligations, but we had 384 that were invited! Congratulations Mavericks! We are proud of you!

It’s Locotubre time! That’s right, every October students taking Spanish classes are invited to participate in a world-wide music bracket challenge. A teacher in west Michigan organizes a bracket of songs that compete to be the most popular world-wide. Over 40,000 students and teachers participate. Voting begins on Monday, October 16. This year's theme is: Décadas. You may remember some of these songs from your youth as they are among some of the most well known in the Spanish speaking world. Check out https://www.senorashby.com/locotubre-2022.html for playlists and to play along!.

The Milford High School Automotive students, in collaboration with Oakland Schools, participated in "Manufacturing Day" on October 7th. The Webasto facility in New Hudson was a generous host as they gave the students an in-depth tour of the building, equipment, and process needed to produce the hard-top panels for the new Ford Bronco. MHS Auto Instructor added "To see the entire process from start to finish was pretty amazing. This was a great opportunity for our students to witness different levels of employees from hourly workers to software engineers, all working side-by-side with automated robots, to contribute towards the final product."

Honors ELA 10 students worked in small groups in the LGI to learn more about Puritanism as they prepared to read The Crucible. They worked through five stations and learned about Theocracies, Puritan Code of Ethics, "City Upon a Hill" excerpt, Puritans Belief in Witchcraft, and Ann Bradstreet poetry.

Ap Physics project was very egg-citing!
The AP Physics students launched eggs across the back 40 at MHS to celebrate homecoming. They will be analyzing their results over the coming weeks.

These underclassmen students wrote essays and applied for scholarships towards summer camps and enrichments they have planned over the summer. We look forward to hearing from them in the fall to see what they learned and how it impacts their lives. Milford is proud to support all grade levels with scholarships.

Help support our students with a project for DECA.
