This past Friday, February 3, the band students from Lakeland, IA West, and Milford participated at the MSBOA District IV Solo and Ensemble Festival at Royal Oak HS.
We had a tremendous showing and lots of success!
Every student that performed for a rating received either a Superior (I) or Excellent (II) Rating! This is fantastic news and I am extremely proud of all of them!
Below are the results. Students who received a Superior Rating are eligible to perform that event again at MSBOA State Solo and Ensemble in March! While we are proud of all students, I want to make a special shout out to Brendan Kornacki at Lakeland who had 3 Superior Ratings and 1 Excellent Rating, and to Matthew Stewart at Milford who had 4 Superior Ratings!!! Way to go HVS!!!
In total, we had:
62 Individual performances with 36 Superior Ratings, 21 Excellent Ratings OVERALL
This means that 36 individual performances qualified for the State Solo and Ensemble Festival this year!!!
Here is the breakdown by school:
LHS - 27 Individual performances – 18 Superior Ratings, 7 Excellent ratings
IIA West - 25 Individual performances – 9 Superior Ratings, 13 Excellent Ratings
MHS - 11 Individual Performances – 9 Superior Ratings, 2 Excellent Ratings
