It's an honor to receive the acknowledgment of Oakland County's Top 40 Under 40. This year two of Milford High School's alumni have been included! Melanie Plank, Class of 2005 and owner of Play and Grow in Milford. Alexandria Bingham, Class of 2008 and the City Clerk for the City of Birmingham. This recognition celebrates leaders across Oakland County who are making a positive impact in their communities. There were over 300 applicants this year.
Melanie Plank blended her love of gymnastics and helping children meet milestones physically, socially, and emotionally to create her business – Play And Grow. Nearly 5,000 children have participated in classes and programs at Play And Grow at present. Plank is also an executive board member and secretary of the Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce, which supports local businesses and the community; as well as the parent council co-chair at the Charyl Stockwell Academy District.

Plank says “My passion for leadership and service began in leadership class. That experience showed me the impact of bringing people together, giving back, and creating opportunities for others. These are values that continue to guide me today.”
Alexandria Bingham has committed her career to public service, community engagement and education. As the city clerk for Birmingham, she has administered 10 elections and partnered with the Oakland County Elections Division to process absentee ballots and provide early voting for Birmingham voters. Bingham is also the vice president of the Oakland County Clerks Association, leading professional development for municipal clerks across the county.

Bingham says she is “Truly honored to be recognized in Oakland County’s 40 Under 40. Serving this community has been one of the greatest privileges, I’m grateful for the people, mentors, and relationships that make the work so meaningful. Excited to keep learning, growing, and giving back.” When asked about her time at MHS, she states “I’m proud to be a product of Huron Valley Schools. The teachers and coaches who invested in me helped shape my work ethic, leadership, and commitment to serving the community that helped raise me.”
