Believing is seeing… and there’s plenty to see at our Holiday Shop! 🎁🚂🎄✨❄️

With the snowy weather, we wanted to send a quick reminder that the students do go outside to recess every day for 20 minutes and sometimes an extra recess with their classroom. Recess will be outside everyday as long as the temps are 15 degrees or above (with a wind chill/real feel being 0 degrees or above).

Please send your student(s) to school with their winter coats, snow pants, hats, gloves/mittens and boots. If you are in need of assistance with Winter Gear, please reach out to the office or your child's teacher.

Remember... Tuesday, December 9th, will be an Early Release Day for Huron Valley Schools.

Students will be released at the following times:

Adult Transition Services - 11:22a
Harbor High - 12:00p
Milford & Lakeland High Schools - 12:34p
Muir & White Lake - 1:30p
All Elementary Schools - 2:37pm

Lakewood's Girls Scout Troop 77655 will be collecting pet supplies such as wet/dry food, treats, and toys, etc. for their community service project. Once the drive is complete, the troop will donate the collected items to a local shelter!

Their project begins next week, Monday 12/8 and ends on Friday 12/12. There will bring a collection bin in the vestibule for collecting items.

Look at all that cereal!! Continuing this week, we are collecting cereal boxes in partnership with the White Lake Fire Department for our annual cereal drive. This year it’s a grade-level contest, and here are how each grade is doing so far! The WLFD will be providing a pizza lunch to the winning grade the week of December 15th. (Please NO cinnamon or pumpkin cereal).

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Ms. Mack wanted to provide our Lakewood statistics success from our collaborative Empty Bowls Project that the 5th and 4th grade art students participated in earlier in November. We created and donated 201 bowls and of those only 18 did not sell. That means each bowl selling at $20.00 each helped fight hunger in our local community with a grand total of $3,660❣️

This donation puts us in the Gold Bowl category and will help provide food for more than 100 families for an entire month. Way to go, Lakewood Art Students! It was not easy to donate your creations; all should be proud of their contribution.

The Lakewood Hawktion was such an incredible night.

The live auction for the ride to school in a firetruck was the big ticket item and we are so grateful for the families that bid and ultimately won. Your donations to Lakewood have left us speechless.

After calculating the auctioned items, raffle entries, ticket sales, etc... The Hawktion raised $8,111!
