Kurtz Families,
We are excited to have so many volunteeers and positive role models interested in volunteering in our building and participating in our Watch D.O.G.S. program.
Each School Year, every volunteer must have a completed and approved Criminal Record Check (CRC) on file with Huron Valley Schools.
To help avoid delays in processing and to answer many common questions, please read this email in its entirety before completing or resubmitting a Criminal Record Check (CRC).
If you have already completed a CRC and received your “Criminal Records Check Form Completed” confirmation email from Droplet, you do not need to do anything further.
If you submitted your CRC within the last two weeks and received the “Criminal Record Check Form Submitted” confirmation email from Droplet, you also do not need to do anything further at this time. Your CRC is still within the normal processing window.
HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR CRC
Step 1: Complete the HVS Criminal Record Check Form
COMPLETE THE HVS CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK FORM
Please complete all required information carefully, including your correct year of birth.
Step 2: Watch for your FIRST email from Droplet
Within a few minutes of successfully submitting the form, you should receive an email confirming that your form was submitted.
The email will come from: no-reply@mail.droplet.io
The subject line should state: “Criminal Record Check Form Submitted”
🚨 This email is important! If you do not receive the submission confirmation, your CRC may not have been successfully submitted.
Please check your Spam/Junk folder if you do not see it in your inbox. Because this email comes from Droplet and NOT from Huron Valley Schools, it can easily be overlooked or filtered as spam.
We strongly recommend adding no-reply@mail.droplet.io to your contacts or safe-sender list.
Step 3: Allow time for HVS to process your CRC
Submitting the form does not mean that your CRC has been approved.
Please allow approximately two weeks for processing. We encourage families to complete the CRC well in advance of their scheduled Watch D.O.G.S. day or any other volunteer opportunity.
Step 4: Watch for your SECOND email from Droplet
Once the review has been completed and your CRC has been approved, you should receive another email from Droplet with the subject: “Criminal Records Check Form Completed”
✅ This is the email confirming that the CRC process has been completed.
Again, please check your Spam/Junk folder because this message will come from Droplet rather than from an HVS email address.
IMPORTANT: YOUR CRC MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL ACTION
In some cases, a submission may be returned because revisions or additional information are needed, or a submission may be rejected.
Please read any email you receive from Droplet carefully and follow the instructions provided. A CRC that requires revisions is not considered complete until the requested information has been corrected and the CRC has been processed and approved.
HOW DO I KNOW I COMPLETED IT CORRECTLY?
You should ultimately have received TWO Droplet emails:
“Criminal Record Check Form Submitted” – confirms Droplet received your form.
“Criminal Records Check Form Completed” – confirms the review process has been completed.
If you believe you completed the CRC but never received the first “Submitted” email, please check your Spam/Junk folder. If it is not there, there may have been an issue with the submission.
WHO NEEDS A CRC?
HVS requires a CRC for anyone volunteering in a school building, chaperoning a field trip, or working directly with students without a staff member present. Current HVS Board Policy also requires screening for volunteers who work with or have access to students.
A CRC is not required for routine visits such as attending parent-teacher conferences, assemblies or school events, or picking up your child.

We greatly appreciate the time our Volunteers and Watch D.O.G.S. give to Kurtz and our students. Completing the CRC process ahead of time helps us make sure your day at Kurtz can go as planned.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and for supporting the Kurtz community!
