National Reading Month March

Calling All Kurtz Elementary Families!

Is your student ready to see their artwork walking down the hallways? We are officially launching our March is Reading Month T-Shirt Design Contest, and this year’s theme is all about literacy: Read. Grow. Bloom.

We are looking for ONE student masterpiece to become the official 2026 Shirt for March! This isn't just a drawing—it’s a chance for your child to inspire the whole school to "bloom" through the power of books.

The winning artist will receive a free t-shirt featuring their own design, and we have 2 more proudly featured in our library display case to be given away at the end of the month as prizes. We’ll celebrate our grand prize winner all month long!

To keep things fair and printer-ready, please help your young artists follow these "Golden Rules":

  • Use plain white, 8.5 x 11 paper (either horizontal or vertical).

  • Every pencil line MUST be outlined in black marker.

  • Go bold with color! Markers are our favorite for making those designs pop.

  • Keep it "Old School"—designs must be 100% hand-drawn (no computers or clip art allowed!).

  • All work must be the student’s very own

  • Make sure their name and teacher are written in pencil on the back of the art.

Grab the markers, find a cozy reading nook for inspiration, and let those creative seeds grow!

All entries are due to Mrs. Storm in the Library by Monday, February 23rd. We can’t wait to see how Kurtz Elementary blooms this year!
