We are just weeks away from the start of school, and we are so excited and ready to welcome
your children back to Johnson!
We want to make you aware of an important Village of Milford construction project on General
Motors Road that will affect your normal drop-off and pick-up routines. This project is expected
to cause potential traffic disruptions around the school, so please plan ahead and allow extra
time, as delays are possible.
All families arriving from General Motors Road will have a change in their route, as well as, bus
arrival and drop off times may change as we work to accommodate the Village of Milford and
the Milford Police Department during construction.
Drivers will no longer be able to turn onto Mill Street from General Motors Road.
● Instead, drivers will need to take South Main Street to W. Washington Street. For
everyone’s safety, please do NOT use Dean Street or Clinton Street.
● Turn left onto Mill Street and continue to the parking lot entrance as usual following all
drop off and pickup protocols such as; have your child exit vehicle on the side closest to
school, stay in your vehicle, only one car should be lined up next to the curb, do not pass
the vehicle in front of you, pay attention to your surroundings, follow staff directions and
keep the line moving to help traffic flow smoothly and ensure safety.
● When leaving the parking lot, drivers should turn left onto Mill Street and turn right onto
W. Washington Street to leave the area.
● Families can check the BusRight app for their child’s bus times. Any delays will be
reflected in the app as they occur.
Important reminder: Cars should NOT be left unattended or parked along Mill Street or
W Washington Street during school hours.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through this temporary construction
project with the Village of Milford. We know changes to the arrival and dismissal routine can be
challenging, and we appreciate everyone allowing extra time and following the new traffic
pattern to help keep our students, families and staff safe. We are attaching a map with traffic
flow to this communication.
