New logo of a falcon for white lake middle school

White Lake Middle School is soaring into a new chapter with the official unveiling of its Falcon mascot and brand-new school logos. Students and staff are celebrating the introduction of “Flex the Falcon,” the newest member of the Huron Valley Schools family. The reveal marks the next step in a process that began earlier in the school year, when the school community came together to select a new identity for White Lake Middle School.

Back in October, the school held a spirited assembly where students learned the results of a schoolwide mascot vote. The final four options—Herons, Falcons, Blue Jays, and Ravens—were narrowed down after weeks of discussion and student input. During the assembly, students enthusiastically cheered for their favorites, with the Falcons and Ravens emerging as the top contenders.

The suspenseful moment ended with confetti and cheers as balloons rose from a box labeled “Falcons,” officially announcing the White Lake Falcons as the school’s new mascot.

The celebration also included some fun challenges for staff. A pair of teachers bravely sampled some questionable jelly bean flavors—including one described as “wet dog”—while another teacher took part in a playful challenge that turned them into a “walking taco,” complete with sour cream.

The new mascot was chosen as a way to create a fresh, unified identity for the expanded White Lake school community. Now, with the official unveiling of "Flex the Falcon" and the school’s new Falcon logos, students have a mascot they can rally around—one that reflects school pride, unity, and a future where the White Lake Falcons will continue to soar.
