Happy Monday, Lakewood Families!
Our students have been doing a great job of earning SOAR tickets this week. Students earn SOAR tickets at Lakewood by showing pride and respect, obtaining goals, acting responsibly, and remembering safety.
Speaking of safety, last week our entire staff was trained on Run, Hide, Fight, which is training led by the White Lake Police Department that teaches us how to respond to an active shooter incident in the very unlikely event we have a situation like that. I am grateful to the Lakewood staff for giving up 2 additional hours after school this week to engage in this training and to the White Lake Police for leading this training.
Our district safety and wellness committee is looking for a parent representative for Lakewood. This is a committee that only meets a few times per school year. The first meeting is on November 4th at 6 PM. If you would like to be part of this, please email me directly.
4th and 5th grade families, one of our wonderful music teachers, Mrs. Kim is currently surveying 4th and 5th graders regarding whether they own a recorder and their intention to buy one. If you have a 4th or 5th grader, please go to this link and fill out this form by Monday, October 5th…https://forms.gle/oek9ke2DAYGrogAY8.
Don’t forget that tomorrow Tuesday, October 6th is an early release day. Lakewood will be offering Open Gym time from 2:37-4:15 PM on this day for Kindergarten thru 5th grade students. The cost is $20 per student. Click here to register.
Hope you all have a great week!
