Happy Monday, Lakewood Families

Last week I pushed in with Mrs. Ballew, Mrs. Minna, and Ms. Williams’ classes for math every day. I loved having the opportunity to help students in 1st grade work through solving single digit addition problems using the counting on strategy, and helping students in 4th grade with adding and subtracting numbers in the ten and hundred thousands with ungrouping and regrouping. I even got to pull some 4th grade WIN (What I Need) groups to work on rounding. I love being in the classrooms and how excited the students get when they see me.

Our Continuous Improvement team is still looking for a parent representative. Our first meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday at Lakeland High School. Continuous Improvement Team is a committee that collects data focused on student attendance, student achievement, and staff/student/parent perception surveys. We analyze the data together as a team to develop goals and action steps for our school. Our team meets on September 29th, December 15th, January 26th and March 4th. We rotate between meetings at Lakeland and Milford High Schools from 8:30 am-3:30 pm, and lunch is always provided. Please email me if you are interested in serving on this committee.

Have a great week!
