Happy Monday, Lakewood Families!
Our 3rd and 5th grade students worked really hard on their Math MSTEP or Science MSTEP last week. This week, our 5th grade students will be taking the Social Studies MSTEP and our 4th grade students will be taking the Math MSTEP.
Additionally, last week White Lake middle schoolers came to Lakewood to show the 5th graders some of the fine arts options for next year. Be sure to ask your 5th grade student what they are interested in, as middle school scheduling will be happening soon!
The Oakland County Enhancement Millage is a proposed countywide property tax on the August 4, 2026 ballot that would provide additional funding for public schools and eligible academies. If approved, the 1.5-mill tax would last six years and generate about $781 per student each year, distributed equally across districts. All revenue would go directly to local schools, allowing each district to decide how to best support students, staff & programs. For more info click here LINK.
I wanted to share that we are able to lift our restrictions on foods and beverages that have cinnamon. However, we will still need to restrict products containing cinnamon compounds- including perfumes, lotions, hand sanitizers, and soaps. If an ingredient includes “cinn,” it is often a cinnamon-related compound. Thank you so much for your help with this!
