Happy Monday, Lakewood Families!

Thank you to everyone that participated in the Cereal Drive. It is so amazing how motivated our students, especially our 1st and 2nd grade students, were motivated by our competition of which grade level could collect the most cereal. These two grade levels are currently neck and neck with this competition. Great work, everyone. Today, we invited all of our students out into the hallway to make cereal dominoes to celebrate our hard work.

I wanted to take a few minutes to address the changes that were made to bus transportation last week. Last Monday, route 10 was eliminated and the students on that bus route were split across our remaining three bus routes. This change was made largely to not having enough bus drivers to fulfill all of our routes in the district. We are hopeful that once more drivers are hired that we will be able to go back to having four bus routes. If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a bus driver, please click here to apply.

A message from the Lakeland Class of 2028 is holding a fundraiser…Join us for a festive Christmas Movie Night on December 18 from 6:00–7:30 pm in the Lakeland High School Theater! Elementary schoolers and their parents/guardians are invited to enjoy a cozy screening of The Grinch (2018). Admission is $5 cash at the door, and families are encouraged to RSVP ahead of time using the QR code on the poster (found within the Squawk Talk). All proceeds will go to the Lakeland High School Class of 2028! We’ll be providing concessions, and students are welcome to come in their pajamas and bring a blanket for extra comfort. Please note that all elementary students must be accompanied by an adult, and no outside food is permitted. We hope to see you there for a magical holiday evening!
