Junior Kindergarten & Kindergarten
This week is National Safety week. All students in JK-5th grade will engage in a short presentation that focuses on how to stay safe when there is a fire, severe weather, a medical emergency, a health emergency, when there are building maintenance problems, and/or when there is a dangerous person near. All of these situations would require a shelter in place which is when students remain inside their classrooms and instruction can continue. We will practice this drill on Friday, October 24th at 10 am. This drill will last no more than 10 minutes. Please note that visitors will not be able to enter or leave the building during this drill. Additionally, during National Safety week, we talk about good hygiene to prevent the spread of illness, and we also talk about internet safety. All information in each grade is directly connected with the Michigan Health Standards.
Next Saturday, October 25th is the big MSU vs UofM football game. Therefore, we will be having a Michigan/Michigan State spirit day at Lakewood on Friday, October 24th.
