Hello, Lakewood Families!
This week our junior kindergarten, kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders attended a safety assembly with White Lake Fire Department. They also got to see the fire truck.
We are getting very excited for our PTA sponsored Color Run next Friday, October 10th. We appreciate the donations, as well as the parent volunteer support. This is a good segway into reminding you all that CRC's filled out must be filled out in order to volunteer for the Color Run and any other school sponsored event. Our Huron Valley Schools student support directors are in the process of developing a new strategic plan for our Student Support Services department. They would love to get some parent input around this. Therefore, they are hosting two listening tour events…
Dates and Locations:
Tuesday, October 14 – Country Oaks Elementary, Media Center, 5–7 pm
Thursday, October 23 – Milford High School, LGI, 5–7 pm
I wanted to make you aware of a pricing adjustment that will take effect immediately. Due to increased dairy costs from our vendor, the price of milk for students who are not purchasing a full lunch will now be $0.65 per carton. There is no change for students who receive milk as part of a complete reimbursable meal — it will still be included as usual. This change applies only to students who choose to buy milk separately, such as those bringing lunch from home.
Lastly, thank you for your ongoing support with not accessing and/or allowing your children that do not attend Lakewood to access the playground during school hours. Please note, our small, fenced in playground should not be accessed by any individuals after school hours.
