Happy Monday, Lakewood Families!
Last Friday, our 5th-grade students spent the day at Camp Ohiyesa engaging in team building activities, and what a beautiful day they had for this! 5th grade students explored the bog, ziplined, and engaged in a teams course. Thank you to the 5th grade team for facilitating this great experience, and to the parents that volunteered as chaperones.
Join the Special Olympics Committee!
We’re inviting parents to help plan this year’s Special Olympics at Lakewood! Now in its second year, our Track & Field event celebrates inclusion and belonging. Meetings are every 4–6 weeks, with more as the event approaches. Come be a part of something meaningful! If you are interested in being part of this team, email brenda.chappell@hvs.org and/or heather.peaden@hvs.org.
Just a reminder, Lakewood families you must have a handicap tag somewhere on your vehicle to be able to park in handicap spaces. If you see someone parking in a handicap space at Lakewood without a tag, please report it to the office or Mr. Gary, our Fortis Security guard, and we will take appropriate actions with White Lake PD. Thank you for your help with this.
Additionally, please make sure you fill-out the Free and Reduced Lunch form, if you have not done so already. This form does not just let us know if you qualify for free and reduced meals. It also helps schools qualify for vital funding and resources that support educational programs, technology, and other student services. Thank you for completing this!
Don’t forget that tomorrow, Tuesday, September 23rd is an early release day. Students will be released at 2:37 PM.
Have a great week!
Heather
