This past weekend, at Livonia Churchill HS, our band students had an incredible showing at State Solo and Ensemble Festival.
We had numerous events, with students receiving Excellent (II) Ratings and Superior Ratings. Every single performer from Huron Valley medaled.
EVERY SINGLE HVS STUDENT who took a proficiency exam passed them all (to pass you must score over 85 points). This is the first time Mr. Green can recall this ever happening!!!
Soloists also preformed well! Sam Green (IAW, 10th grade) - Superior Rating - Proficiency I Exam (score of 94/100)
Asahi Natsume (IAW, 11th grade) Violin - Superior Rating - Proficiency II Exam (score of 93/100)
Gabe Verrino (IAW, 11th grade) Snare Drum - Superior Rating - Proficiency II Exam (score of 98/100)
Sayaka Minami (IAW, 12th grade) Piano - Superior Rating - Proficiency III Exam (score of 98/100)
Congrats to all music groups and soloists! #weareHVS #IArocks

On Friday, 6 DP Visual Arts seniors displayed their hardwork from the last few years. The pieces and their rational gave insight into the art, why it was made the way it was and what it means to these students/what they want others to think when viewing it all. Congrats on this HUGE accomplishment. Thank you to Mrs. Turner for her guidance in completing this portion of these students IB exams! #IArocks #ibartexhibition

Do you have a talent that your classmates don't know about? We want to see it and share about you!!! This is a CAS project for some IAW seniors, where we will feature your submission on a school Instagram page to create a virtual stage in our school community where you can share your talents with others. We look forward to hear from you! #IArocks

The 2025 IASA show was a great success, we were able to accomplish all the goals the club set and the club members did a great job. This year's theme was RAABTA which means unity, and this was shown throughout the night between West and Central showing off their talents. It was a fun night had by all! Approximately $3500 raised was donated to BuildOn, the Phoenix Fund, and Calcutta Rescue. #IArocks #IASA
