Kat Wieas is on Huron Valley Penguins swim team, on 3/5 (her 14th birthday) - 3/6 was Regionals formally called Jr. Olympics. Kat was qualified in over 8 events after taking a year off due to Covid.

So many best times and smiling faces occurred at this meet. Congrats to all the swimmers with time improvements. Here are all the swimmers who scored points at the meet. Huron Valley Penguins finished 3rd in Team Points in the small teams category.

Parents, if you've been wondering how to maneuver through parenting in a post-pandemic
world, mark April 21 on your calendar - HVS will host a Parent Resource Night from 6-8:15pm
at Milford High School. Vendors will be open at 5:30, there will be a keynote speaker, and
break-out sessions to address parenting challenges and needs. More information to come.

Testing
Now, we head into testing season! HVVA students are expected to attend mandated testing in-person. Testing
information emails have been sent, please check your inbox. All computer testing (M-Step, Work Keys) must be done on the student's district issued Chromebook! Please review this device preparation, to make sure that Chromebooks are ready for testing!

SENIORS - PROM is scheduled at Milford for May 27, at Lakeland for June 2. Information regarding tickets will be provided after Spring Break.
Senior Honors Night will be held on May 18 for Milford, on May 19 for Lakeland. Students will be notified in late April/early May if they
are invited to attend Honors Night. Graduation will be held on Sunday, June 12; 1:00pm at Milford High School and 3:00pm at Lakeland High School.

The K-12 Commitment Form for 2022-23 is available. This was sent to all HVVA families via email this week. If you wish to leave the HVVA for next year, this form MUST be completed by April 30. Decisions regarding staffing, classes, etc. will be based on the enrollment information we have on April 30, 2022. It is so important that enrollment intentions of our families are clear. Please don't wait!!

These professionals help students deal with mental health and behavioral challenges and provide academic and classroom support. Three of Ms. Mitchell's 7th Grade Leadership students (Omar Bakdaleyeh, Mark Kena, and Madison Martin) are organizing a social group called SocialGrounds, which is open to all middle schoolers. Omar, Mark, and Madison will be visiting Seminar classes next week to spread the word and share information about this extra-curricular activity.
This group will meet after school (3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.) on Mondays and Thursdays starting Monday, February 28th. Students should use the code: HVVASG to join. This will give students the opportunity to hang out with their classmates after school hours. Ms. Mitchell and Ms. Bradley will be hosting and supervising this event.
