LHS/IAW DECA chapter delivered an outstanding performance at the Michigan DECA State Career Development Conference in Detroit. Competing against more than 5,000 students from across the state, Lakeland members earned an impressive number of awards.
Many students were named State Finalists, recognizing them among Michigan’s top competitors. In addition, 13 students qualified to represent Michigan at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta this April. #iarocks #deca

It has been a busy week of extracurricular sporting activities for some IAW students! Congrats to Caden Azzato for placing 4th at MHSAA regional, earning a spot in this weeks State tournament, carrying a 38-12 record.
Girls basketball is heading to the District finals with a 15-8 record. Good luck to Anna & Claire Linen and Morgan Dial!!!
Boys swimming completed their LVC Championship meet with a team 3rd place finish. IAW swimmers Sam Campbell and Nick Marinescu came away with relay championships/records in 200 medley relay. Sam added 2 championships and records in 100 fly and 100 backstroke!
IAW does have some South Lyon swimmers as well! Great meet Varun and Rohith. #IArocks

The IA/Lakeland Speech & Debate Team traveled to its first-ever competition at Michigan State University on Saturday, Feb. 14th for the 9th Annual Spartanvitational.
Nine IA West students matched their skills against students from all over the state in the following speaking events: Extemporaneous, Oratory, and Informative. While they did not make it to the semi-finals, everyone agreed that it was a great learning opportunity and are excited for their next competition.
The following IA West students competed:
Pranay Chellam, Grace Ann Gammou, Kian Gordon, Muhammad Hassan Hassan, Alishba Jafri, Aanya Janga, Matthew Kena, Mark Kena, and Devyani Shekhawat.
