Why do you require a set schedule?
• Set schedules are required so caregivers can be regularly scheduled and to determine whether there is enough interest in a program to make it viable.

I’m unable to give a set schedule. Can I still use School Age Care as needed?
• Yes, you may request to attend SAC by emailing schoolagecare@hvs.org.

Why are there so many fees?
• School Age Care programs are self-supporting and rely solely on child care fees to operate.
• To keep programs open, we allow some flexibility while also asking families to commit to consistent attendance.
• Consistent attendance helps us recruit and retain caregivers.
• Consistent attendance also helps ensure programs can open and remain open.
• We are licensed by the State of Michigan, which has strict regulations for quality child care. To comply with these requirements, we incur costs that must be passed on to families.
