Hello! My name is Doug Farmer and I am excited to be working with students with last names P-Z. In addition to academics, I work with students in the areas of social and emotional needs as well as college and career planning. I focus on connecting students to the Lakeland community. The more connected a student is, the more likely it is that a student succeeds. I urge students to reach out when they need help. Utilizing the available resources (tutoring, clubs, etc.) helps students stay on track. Becoming their own advocates helps students to be accountable for their education. It is my goal to help students become the best versions of themselves and to prepare them for their lives after Lakeland.

Some background information on me: I was born and grew up in the city of Detroit, Michigan, before moving to Oakland County towards the end of elementary school. I'm a proud 2008 graduate of Lakeland. I was an active participant in our Music and Marching Band programs, as well as Athletics. I went on to study at Michigan State University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology (GO GREEN!). I earned my Master's Degree in Counseling at Oakland University, with an advanced specialization in School Counseling. Returning to Lakeland and beginning my career in this wonderful school has been a dream come true! My interests include traveling and taking road trips with my fiancée Sam, fantasy baseball, attending concerts, and cooking. I'm also one of the instructors with the LHS Marching Band, and have been for the better part of the last decade.
