Lakeland Math Department
The goal of the Lakeland Math Department is to provide all students with the knowledge and tools to be successful in all future endeavors. With an experienced, knowledgeable, and highly qualified faculty, students are offered opportunities to gain mathematical insight within the following courses; Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics. In addition to these courses, an honors level sequence is offered to prepare students to take Advanced Placement Calculus and Statistics tests.
TI Nspire calculators along with other 21st century technological devices are used in daily instruction and learning. Students are highly encouraged to have a TI-83 graphing calculator (or better) to assist in their learning outside of school. The Lakeland Math Department is excited to work with your student to prepare them for the endless possibilities of the future.
*Note* Textbooks for all Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 courses are offered online. Please visit http://my.hrw.com to view the textbook as well as addition learning tools for each course. Contact your student's teacher for their login name and password.
The sites listed below are some good resources to help your child succeed on the ACT/MME tests taken each year. We encourage you to explore them and help your student get prepared for these tests. Thank you!
