Second Semester Transfer Request

Dear HVS families,

During the summer we asked families to make a semester-long commitment to either face-to-face instruction or remote instruction in the Huron Valley Virtual Academy (HVVA). By an overwhelming margin parents wanted to have the opportunity to request a change in placement  for the second semester. 

If you would like to request a change in placement for second semester, the parent or legal guardian will need to complete the Second Semester Commitment Form NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 19. If you wish to remain in your current setting, you do not need to complete this form.  

With the decision to allow families to make a choice at the semester break, the district will need time to determine student placements, teacher placement and class schedules. It is essential that parents who wish to change their child’s placement, complete this information in order for the district to provide ample notice to staff, students and families regarding second semester details. Second semester will begin on January 31, 2022.

We would like to take this opportunity to emphasize and clarify key information:

Students enrolled in the Huron Valley Virtual Academy and in our face-to-face buildings will continue to receive instruction from their currently assigned teacher(s) through the first semester. Decisions regarding teacher assignments for second semester will be based on student enrollment. It is possible that students in the HVVA, as well as students learning face-to-face, will have different teachers in the second semester.
