English as a Second Language (ESL)

Huron Valley Adult Education welcomes all foreign-born people. We offer free classes to help improve your English and Civics skills. English as a Second Language classes are held at the Brooks Center in White Lake. Instruction is individualized, and students may work with tutors at their own pace. A non-refundable registration fee of $40 (per semester) is due at the time of registration. You do not have to be a resident of the Huron Valley School District to attend this program.

Evening Class Schedule:
Tuesday and Thursday 5:45 PM - 9:45 PM

Daytime Class Schedule:
Monday and Wednesday -  9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Friday - ESL Conversations  - 10:00 am-Noon

Improve your English to.... 

  • Improve communication with your child's teacher and other school personnel.

  • Speak more English with your child in the home.

  • Learn Math, Social Studies, and Science vocabulary to help your child with homework

  • Read and fill out school forms and reports.

  • Help your child with everyday reading in books, magazines, newspapers, and on the internet.

Would like to become a volunteer tutor?    

You do not need to have special training or a college degree. We will train you. Just be open-minded, flexible and willing to spend a few hours of your time each week helping other adults learn to read. If you can help, call us! 248-676-8398
