English as a Second Language (ESL)
Huron Valley Adult Education welcomes all foreign-born people. We offer free classes to help improve your English and Civics skills. English as a Second Language classes are held at the Brooks Center in White Lake. Instruction is individualized, and students may work with tutors at their own pace. A non-refundable registration fee of $45 (per semester) is due at the time of registration. You do not have to be a resident of the Huron Valley School District to attend this program.
Evening Class Schedule:
Tuesday and Thursday 5:45 PM - 9:45 PM
Daytime Class Schedule:
Monday and Wednesday - 9:00am-1:00pm
Friday - ESL Conversations - 10:00am-Noon
Improve your English to....
- Improve communication with your child's teacher and other school personnel.
- Speak more English with your child in the home.
- Learn Math, Social Studies, and Science vocabulary to help your child with homework
- Read and fill out school forms and reports.
- Help your child with everyday reading in books, magazines, newspapers, and on the internet.

Would like to become a volunteer tutor? You do not need to have special training or a college degree. We will train you. Just be open-minded, flexible and willing to spend a few hours of your time each week helping other adults learn to read. If you can help, call us! 248-676-8398
